Hi James - had a vaguely similar problem to this. I've got both R6 and R5 installed on XP and wanted to update my R6 installation but it was a funny install and wouldn't let me choose the install location, it was just defaulting to the R5 folder. I discovered that the registry entries HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lotus\Notes\Path and DataPath were the ones causing this problem. I changed them, installed the upgrade successfully and changed them back.
